DON’T LET THE FIRST TIME BE THE ONLY TIME YOU:
  • Share air, donate your octopus
  • Remove and replace your mask
  • Dump weight at the surface (your own, your buddy’s)
  • Find your regulator: ‘reach behind your head method’


WORK ON YOUR AIR CONSUMPTION
  • Relax, good trim and buoyancy, correct your kick
  • Breath slowly and deeply

REDUCE YOUR WEIGHT, BIT BY BIT

BUOYANCY SKILLS: CAN ALWAYS IMPROVE
  • Work on your underwater mobility:
    be able to turn your body in any direction to look
  • back away from coral
  • get to a distant buddy fast
  • stay off the bottom, don’t silt up the site
