Overview
Paradise Reef is a calm, shallow reef often used for check-out dives and night dives in Cozumel. It consists of a series of coral ridges running parallel to the shore.
What you’ll see
The gentle current and abundant macro life make it a relaxing and rewarding dive. It is one of the most reliable places in the world to spot the endemic and brilliantly colored Splendid Toadfish.
The Dive Experience
Paradise Reef offers a very gentle and easy dive profile. You’ll descend onto a shallow, sandy bottom broken up by low-lying coral ridges running parallel to the shoreline. The current here is usually very mild, allowing you to move slowly and inspect the reef closely. It’s an excellent site for a leisurely afternoon dive or a night dive, where the reef comes alive with hunting octopuses, moray eels, and the famous Splendid Toadfish.
Getting There
It is located just south of the cruise ship piers, making it a very short boat ride or even a long shore dive from certain beach clubs.
